Petition Circulators Wanted!
The Campaign to Decriminalize Nature DC received the circulating petition on May 6, 2020 and will be collecting signatures from DC voters until at least July 5, 2020.
The current pay rate is $10.00 per valid signature and the pay is weekly. This is a temporary contract job, not an hourly job. You will be paid for *only* valid signatures from registered DC voters.
We need you attend at least one training as soon as possible (sign up below) and be able to come to the Campaign office to fill out all the paperwork, receive petitions, and supplies.
At this time we are not offering housing for out of state petitioners, but we are offering transportation within DC, via prepaid SmartTrip Metro cards, for full time petitioners.

PETITIONER HIRING PROCESS:
1) Sign up for a Campaign to Decriminalize Nature DC Petitioner Training (See Form Below) This training is required, even if you have petitioned in DC before! The training will e conducted over ZOOM. Please have the software downloaded & tested prior to the training. When you arrive at the campaign office you will be asked to complete the following steps:
1.1) We will scan & print a copy of your District of Columbia ID and ask you to write your email address and phone number on this print out. If you do not have a DC ID, please bring proof of DC residency such as a bank statement, lease, cell phone or utility bill– something that has your name on it and a DC address.
1.2) If you do not live in the District of Columbia, you will need to print and correctly fill out a “Non-Resident Petition Circulator Registration Form” and email us a photograph of the completed form and a photograph of your proof of residency so we can submit these documents to the DC Board of Elections prior to issuing you circulating petitions. To prove your residency to DCBOE, it is REQUIRED that you provide one of the following: Government ID with your address, a voided check with your address, a bank statement that has your address, a utility bill that has your address, a housing/shelter statement (like a current lease), or a government document with your address. The address you write in part III “Circulator Information” must match the address provided in your proof of residency.

1.3) Fill Out a W-9 if you want to be paid by the Campaign. We will keep a copy at the campaign office. Please DO NOT email this document to us. We will ask you to fill this out at the office. We will keep a copy at the campaign office. This is not required for Volunteers.
1.4) Read and Sign Petitioner Policies and Procedures document – We will keep a copy at the campaign office.
1.5) Read and Sign the Health & Safety Agreement – We will keep a copy at the campaign office. IMPORTANT: All petition circulators trained & hired before May 1, will need to attend a Health & Safety training and sign the agreement before being issued petitions.
1.6) Sign Waiver and Release of Liability – We will keep a copy at the campaign office.
2) Provide the campaign the times, dates, and locations of where you plan to circulate petitions.
3) Return petitions EACH DAY. Before arriving at the campaign office, you must call ahead so we know to expect you. You will need to fill out the Petition Return Cover Sheet, which will indicate the number of petitions and signatures you are submitting.
REMEMBER: After you sign up for a training, you will get an email approximately 1 hour before the training with the Zoom link and appropriate documents.
